Origin Staffing partners with a leading global alternative investment management firm to recruit a Director of Finance in Boston. The role spans investment accounting, NAVs, fund reporting, and oversight of third-party fund administrators across a diverse asset platform.

The Director will lead day-to-day finance activities, collaborate with investment teams, Operations, Tax, Legal, Compliance, and other Finance groups, and shape scalable finance processes as the platform grows.

We’re partnering with a leading global alternative investment management firm on a Director of Finance opportunity within one of its fastest-growing investment platforms. This is a broad fund finance leadership role spanning private credit, structured products, fixed income, private investments, fund-of-funds, derivatives, and other alternative investment structures.

The Director will serve as the day-to-day finance lead for the business, with ownership across investment accounting, fund reporting, valuation, third-party fund administrator oversight, cash management, and cross-functional finance initiatives. The position works closely with investment professionals, Portfolio Management, Operations, Tax, Legal, Compliance, and other Finance teams.

The platform supports investment portfolios for insurance-related clients, but prior insurance experience is not required. The focus is investment management and understanding funds, investment structures, NAVs, valuations, waterfalls, and the operational side of managing complex portfolios.

What makes this opportunity unusual is the breadth. Director-level roles at large investment managers are often highly specialized around a single strategy or function. This position offers the resources and infrastructure of a major global firm while maintaining broad ownership across products, finance, operations, and process improvement. The business is growing quickly, and this person will also have meaningful input into how the finance function and team develop.

Qualifications:

• CPA strongly preferred; CFA or comparable financial/accounting background will also be considered
• 10+ years of progressive accounting, fund finance, investment accounting, or related asset management experience
• Combination of Big 4/public accounting and in-house investment management experience strongly preferred
• Strong understanding of alternative investment funds, financial reporting, NAVs, capital activity, valuations, waterfalls, and investment structures
• Experience overseeing third-party fund administrators or other external service providers
• Exposure to private equity, private credit, structured credit, fund-of-funds, or other alternative investment strategies; experience across every asset class is not required
• Ability to operate independently, take ownership of a business area, and work effectively in a growing environment
