Job summary

Origin Staffing is recruiting for a Real Estate Finance Manager in Boston. The role oversees accounting for real estate funds and direct investments, with a focus on U.S. GAAP, fair value, and complex waterfall structures.

It offers high visibility, collaboration across Finance and Investment teams, and opportunities to drive process automation. The position requires 5+ years in real estate accounting or finance, CPA preferred, and experience with real estate funds or institutional investments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant accounting or finance experience, ideally Big 4/public accounting in financial services.
• Strong understanding of real estate accounting, U.S. GAAP financial reporting, and fair value.
• Experience with real estate funds, private investment funds, joint ventures, or institutional real estate investments.
• Exposure to waterfalls/promotes, management fees, valuations, capital activity, or fund-level financial reporting.
• Big 4 or other public accounting experience with real estate or investment management clients is highly valued.

Responsibilities

• Oversee quarterly and annual accounting and financial reporting for assigned real estate investment funds and direct investments.
• Review fund financial statements, supporting schedules, investment activity, and other reporting under U.S. GAAP and fair value accounting.
• Review promote/waterfall calculations, management fees, investment activity, and complex ownership structures.
• Analyze quarterly reporting packages from joint ventures and underlying real estate investments.
• Manage fund liquidity, cash forecasting, capital calls, distributions, and other cash movements.
• Support acquisitions, dispositions, refinancings, ownership transfers, partial sales, and other investment transactions.
• Coordinate with fund administrators, external auditors, joint venture partners, and internal Finance teams.
• Partner with Investment, Asset Management, Tax, Legal, Investor Relations, and Capital Markets on portfolio and fund-level matters.
• Coach and develop junior members of the Real Estate Finance team.
• Identify opportunities to improve reporting and accounting processes through better systems, automation, data, and AI-enabled tools.

This is a high-visibility Real Estate Finance Manager opportunity with a leading global alternative investment manager. The role sits within an established real estate investment platform and is ideal for someone coming from real estate accounting, fund finance, investment management, or Big 4 real estate audit who wants broader ownership and direct exposure to a sophisticated institutional real estate portfolio.

The position combines real estate fund accounting, financial reporting, fair value, portfolio activity, cash management, and transaction support. The Manager will oversee the accounting and reporting for assigned investment funds as well as a portfolio of direct real estate investments across sectors including multifamily, industrial, life sciences, senior housing, self-storage, medical office, retail, and other property types.

This is a broad finance role with regular interaction across Investment, Asset Management, Tax, Legal, Investor Relations, Capital Markets, and other internal teams. The group also places a strong emphasis on process improvement, technology, automation, and the thoughtful use of AI within Finance.
