Job summary

Origin Staffing partners with a global alternative investment manager to fill an AVP-level finance role in Boston. This senior position oversees accounting and reporting infrastructure for a sophisticated platform with exposure across private markets, credit, and structured investments.

You'll own relationships with fund administrators, lead NAV review and financial reporting, and partner with investment, portfolio management, operations, tax, legal, and compliance.

Qualifications

We are partnering with a large global alternative investment manager on an AVP-level finance opportunity in Boston.

This is a senior, hands-on role supporting a growing investment platform with exposure across private markets, credit, structured investments, fixed income, and other alternative investment strategies. The person joining will have meaningful ownership of the finance function while working closely with investment professionals, portfolio management, operations, tax, legal, compliance, external auditors, and third-party fund administrators.

This is not a narrow fund accounting role. The team is looking for someone who can understand complex investments, oversee the accounting and reporting infrastructure around them, manage external providers, and serve as a strong finance partner to senior stakeholders across the business.

Compensation

• Significant annual performance bonus

Responsibilities

• Serve as a senior finance lead supporting a complex and growing investment platform
• Develop a strong understanding of the underlying investments and fund structures across multiple asset classes
• Oversee third-party fund administrators and review key accounting and reporting deliverables
• Lead NAV review, financial reporting, consolidations, cash management, expense allocations, and specialized reporting
• Support valuation processes and related senior-level reporting
• Own the year-end audit process and manage relationships with external auditors
• Partner with investment and portfolio management teams on new and existing investments
• Coordinate closely with operations, tax, legal, compliance, and other finance groups
• Improve and scale accounting, reporting, controls, and finance infrastructure
• Manage complex projects and time-sensitive requests for senior leadership

Qualifications

• 12+ years of relevant accounting, fund finance, investment accounting, or asset management experience
• Experience within an alternative asset manager, investment manager, private markets firm, fund administrator, or public accounting firm
• Big 4 / public accounting experience strongly preferred
• Strong technical accounting foundation with exposure to complex investments and fund structures
• Experience overseeing fund administrators or other outsourced service providers
• CPA strongly preferred; CFA or comparable qualification also relevant
• Advanced Excel skills
• Strong technology aptitude and an interest in automation and AI
• Comfortable interpreting fund, investment, and legal documentation
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with investment professionals and senior leadership
• Comfortable operating in a fast-paced and high-expectation investment environment
