Salary Range:

About:

Are you an Accounts Receivable leader who thrives on transforming complex financial operations, driving process improvements, and building high-performing teams? We are seeking a strategic, forward-thinking Director of Finance to take ownership of its growing Accounts Receivable and billing functions. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial & Human Resources Officer, this role will oversee complex, data-intensive invoicing, collections, cash flow, and billing operations while partnering with the General Ledger team on financial reporting and reconciliations. You will have the opportunity to evaluate existing processes, identify inefficiencies, accelerate billing and collections cycles, and implement scalable solutions that support the company's continued growth. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced finance leader who enjoys getting into the details, challenging the status quo, developing people, and making a meaningful impact on the entire business. The ideal candidate is an intellectually curious, hands-on finance leader with deep Accounts Receivable experience, a background in highly regulated or complex billing environments, and the ability to motivate established teams while driving thoughtful, sustainable improvements.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead and oversee Accounts Receivable, billing, collections, cash applications, and related financial operations while supervising a team of approximately 9 employees
  • Evaluate and optimize complex, multi-page invoicing processes, ensuring billing accuracy, data integrity, and timely invoice delivery
  • Drive improvements across the billing and collections lifecycle to reduce DSO, accelerate cash flow, and minimize outstanding receivables
  • Partner with the Controller and General Ledger team on financial statements, account reconciliations, and broader accounting initiatives
  • Analyze workflows across production, procurement, customer service, and accounting to identify inefficiencies and implement scalable solutions
  • Develop, mentor, and motivate a tenured team while fostering accountability, collaboration, and a culture of continuous improvement
  • Provide strategic insight into financial operations, anticipate business needs, and help position the department for continued growth
Requirements
  • 8+ years of progressive accounting and Accounts Receivable experience, including leadership or supervisory responsibilities
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Experience working in a highly regulated environment such as financial services, insurance, utilities, manufacturing, or similarly complex industries
  • Strong background in complex, high-volume billing and invoicing processes involving multiple data sources and operational workflows
  • Demonstrated success improving Accounts Receivable processes, accelerating collections, reducing DSO, and supporting business growth
  • Experience with mid-sized to large organizations, ideally with annual revenue of $50M–$100M+
  • NetSuite experience strongly preferred, along with advanced Excel skills including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs
Benefits:
  • 401(k) and Roth 401(k) plans
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance, along with company-paid Life and AD&D coverage
  • Paid holidays, accrued vacation, and paid sick leave
  • Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), giving employees the opportunity to build ownership in the company
  • Significant leadership growth potential, including a pathway to Vice President
  • Opportunity to shape and transform financial operations while introducing meaningful improvements
  • Supportive, family-oriented culture with a collaborative team, employee recognition programs, and strong long-term employee retention
