Job summary

The Covenant HealthCare College of Medicine at Central Michigan University seeks a Director of Faculty Development to oversee faculty development activities focused on teaching, assessment, and evaluation. The role supports educational scholarship and program design to improve learning experiences for faculty, students, and residents across Michigan.

Under the Office of Medical Education, the director develops, delivers, and evaluates professional development activities, collaborates with CMED

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in medical education, higher education, psychology, or a related field.
• Four years of relevant experience in a higher education environment.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders including faculty, admins, and students.
• Scholarly activity such as publication/presentation of educational materials.
• Ability to work effectively in a complex environment.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Ability to travel and work a flexible schedule.

Responsibilities

• Develop enduring and innovative educator and professional development materials.
• Lead the educator and professional development program for CMU College of Medicine in Michigan.
• Design and conduct workshops on teaching, learner assessment, small group facilitation, and portfolio development.
• Provide consultation to faculty on teaching and scholarship development across campuses.
• Monitor and evaluate outcomes of educator and clinical development programs.
• Collaborate with CMED leadership to optimize the medical school learning environment.
• Develops and implements faculty engagement program and strategic plans.
