Job summary

Community of Hope Inc. is seeking a Director of Facilities in Washington, DC. This role leads daily operations, safety, and long-range maintenance across health centers and shelters.

Expect CMMS-driven work order management, emergency planning, and cross-team collaboration to uphold safe, accessible spaces. Qualifications include a Bachelor’s in facilities mgmt, 7+ years in facilities/ops leadership, and 5+ years supervising staff. Strong communication and DEI/TIC awareness are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in facilities management or related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
• 7+ years in facilities/operations leadership.
• Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience.
• Strong communication and collaboration across leaders and staff.
• Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, fire/life safety, and building systems.
• Knowledge of safety, accessibility, compliance, and inspections.
• Willing to respond to urgent facility needs and on-call situations.
• Proficient in Microsoft 365 applications.

Responsibilities

• Directs daily operations, preventive maintenance, and long-range planning across sites.
• Performs weekly site inspections to ensure spaces are safe, accessible, and welcoming.
• Leads CMMS usage to manage work orders, schedules, and reporting.
• Collaborates with leadership to maintain emergency plans and drills.
• Suggests capital improvements and supports project delivery within budget.
• Provides coaching, feedback, and professional development for staff.
