Job summary

Community of Hope is seeking a Director of Facilities in Washington, DC to oversee daily operations, preventive maintenance, and long-range planning for multiple health centers and shelters. The role requires leadership across teams, strong knowledge of building systems, and a commitment to safety and accessibility.

You will drive capital improvements, manage emergencies, and ensure spaces are safe, welcoming, and compliant with regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in facilities management, engineering, construction management, business administration, public administration, nonprofit management, or related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
• Seven+ years of progressive facilities/operations leadership experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Direct daily operations, preventive maintenance, repair, inspection, and long-range planning across health centers, shelters, offices, storage and outdoor spaces.
• Perform weekly site inspections to ensure spaces are safe, accessible, and welcoming.
• Maximize Use MaintainX CMMS for work orders, preventive maintenance schedules, inspections and reporting.
• Collaborate with leadership to maintain emergency response plans and lead drills.
• Provide capital improvement recommendations and ensure projects are on budget and schedule.
• Mentor and develop staff, provide feedback, training, and performance evaluations.
• Apply DEI and TIC principles in leadership and daily work.
• Recruit for vacancies and partner with Talent Management as needed.
