You will hire, train, supervise building service staff and act as Safety Officer, driving emergency management and facility safety initiatives within a patient-care environment.

Qualifications

  • Supervisory experience required.
  • Four years related work experience or completion of approved, accredited trade school program or apprenticeship preferred.
  • Certification or licensing of plumbing, HVAC, air conditioning, or electrician preferred.
  • FEMA National Incident Management IC S100 & IC S200 preferred completion within the first 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

  • The Director of Facilities Management is responsible for the daily operation and maintenance of hospital buildings, grounds, and mechanical/electrical systems.
  • Ensures compliance with local, state, NFPA, OSHA and Joint Commission regulations and standards.
  • Hires, trains, supervises and terminates building service personnel.
  • Serves as the hospital’s Safety Officer and leads the Emergency Management Program.

Qualifications
Required Skills:

  • Knowledge of standard and procedures regarding hazardous waste and materials.
  • Demonstrates general computer skills including: data entry, word processing, email, and record management.
  • Effective organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain quality and safety standards.
  • Ability to maintain proper levels of confidentiality.
  • Ability to work closely and professionally with others.
  • Ability to use equipment necessary for the job function

Responsibilities

The Director of Facilities Management is the individual with primary responsibility for the daily operation and maintenance of hospital buildings, grounds, and mechanical/electrical systems, while ensuring compliance with all local, state, NFPA, OSHA and Joint Commission regulations and standards. Interacts with other department heads to ensure safe and efficient operations. Hires, trains, supervises and terminates building service personnel. Serves as the hospital’s Safety Officer with authority to take immediate action if current conditions threaten safety, health or life. Responsible for managing all aspects of the Emergency Management Program. Integrates the hospital’s mission and “Guiding Principles” into daily practice.
