Job summary

Encompass Health is seeking a Facilities Management Director to ensure hospital and satellite clinics operate safely and efficiently, creating a welcoming healing environment for patients and families. Lead maintenance, regulatory compliance, and capital projects to keep facilities compliant and reliable.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree and 5+ years in healthcare facility maintenance with supervisory experience, deep knowledge of building systems, and familiarity with Joint Commission,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and/or 5+ years of hospital maintenance and/or construction in a healthcare setting.
• Minimum of five years supervisory experience in healthcare facility equipment and systems operations, including chiller systems, steam boilers, hydraulic systems, building controls, electrical systems, and air handlers.
• Broad knowledge of TJC, OSHA, EPA, NFPA, and other federal, state, and local regulatory standards.
• Membership in a state or national healthcare engineering association is preferred.
• Certified Healthcare Facility Manager (CHFM) is preferred.
• A valid driver's license is a prerequisite.
• May be required to work weekdays and/or weekends, evenings and/or night shifts.
• May be required to work on religious and/or legal holidays on scheduled days/shifts.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the rehabilitation hospital, satellite clinics, and related building systems meet Joint Commission standards and regulatory requirements.
• Plan and lead environment of care/safety meetings; may serve as safety officer for compliance.
• Coordinate and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance programs per industry and manufacturer guidance.
• Foster an inclusive work environment and culture that embraces diversity.
