Job summary

New England Center and Home for Veterans in Boston is seeking a Director of Facilities to oversee the Center’s physical facilities, maintenance management, building systems, housekeeping and renovations, and related capital projects.

This exempt role reports to the Vice President, Operations and Facilities, supervises Facilities, Maintenance and Custodial Managers, and requires a Bachelor's degree with 10+ years in facility management, plus strong leadership and knowledge of HVAC, electrical and

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
10+ years in facility management or similar.
Expertise in building systems: HVAC, mechanical, electrical, life-safety.
5+ years of team leadership.
Strong written and verbal communication.
Experience with military culture and Veterans population.

Responsibilities

Oversee overall facility maintenance for Boston location and Merrimack Valley properties.
Lead and train facility and housekeeping staff.
Provide leadership for maintenance and housekeeping teams.
Manage preventative and emergency maintenance incl. HVAC, elevators, life-safety.
Develop capital budgets and infrastructure improvement plans.
Implement facility policies and preventative maintenance plans.
Oversee electronic maintenance software and work orders.
Ensure compliance with laws and codes.
Collaborate with Director of Operations on safety and security.
Coordinate with Finance and Property Management on related items.
Perform other duties as assigned.
