Job summary

LHH seeks an experienced Director of External Reporting to lead SEC reporting, technical accounting, financial reporting, and compliance for a large public company. This role partners with executive leadership, finance, treasury, investor relations, and external auditors to drive accuracy and timeliness of disclosures.

The ideal candidate brings 10+ years in public accounting or public company reporting, CPA, and strong U.S. GAAP expertise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA required.
• 10+ years of combined public accounting and/or public company reporting experience.
• Significant SEC reporting experience within a publicly traded company.
• Strong technical accounting expertise and knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
• Proven leadership experience managing and developing teams.
• Big 4 or national public accounting experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation and review of SEC filings, including 10-Ks, 10-Qs, 8-Ks, proxy statements, and other public disclosures.
• Oversee external financial reporting processes and ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations.
• Research, evaluate, and communicate technical accounting matters and emerging accounting standards.
• Partner with executive leadership on complex accounting transactions, acquisitions, and strategic initiatives.
• Manage relationships with external auditors and support quarterly and annual audit activities.
• Develop and mentor a team of accounting and reporting professionals.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to reporting processes, controls, and systems.
