Overview

We are seeking an experienced, strategic, and hands‑on leader to serve as Director of Existing Building Services division. This role will oversee all facets of renovation and preventative maintenance projects for existing facilities, including retrofits, upgrades, system replacements, and ongoing building services work. The ideal candidate will combine deep technical expertise, strong leadership skills, and business acumen to deliver high-quality, safe, and profitable projects while supporting the organization’s long‑term financial goals.

Position Overview
  • Lead and manage day‑to‑day operations of the service division, ensuring safe, timely, and profitable execution of commercial HVAC projects.
  • Proven experience in business development and building relationships with owners, clients, and subcontractors.
  • Monitor job budgets, labor productivity, procurement, and change orders to ensure fiscal responsibility and accurate forecasting across all active projects.
  • Strong understanding of procurement processes, contract administration, and vendor management
  • Ability to manage multiple large‑scale projects simultaneously and work effectively with both internal teams and external stakeholders
  • Negotiate contracts, subcontracts, scopes, and change orders with vendors, subcontractors, and partners.
  • Build, mentor, and manage a high‑performing team including managers, field supervisors, and technical leads.
  • Establish performance metrics, accountability, and career development plans.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and adherence to regulatory and code compliance.
  • Facilitate communication, progress updates, and change management.
  • Resolve conflicts, anticipate risks, and proactively manage expectations.
  • Oversee site audits, inspections, quality reviews, and corrective actions.
Requirements & Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in commercial construction, HVAC management, or existing HVAC building services, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven track record managing renovation, retrofit, and maintenance projects in existing buildings (i.e., HVAC, Mechanical systems).
  • Experience designing and enforcing safety, compliance, quality control, and commissioning procedures.
  • Strong leadership, team building, and mentoring capabilities.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects across sites.
  • Deep knowledge of commercial building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, controls, and maintenance operations.
