Job summary

QP Group is seeking an Operations Manager to lead its Commercial HVAC Service Division in Atlanta, GA. The role centers on driving operational excellence, strengthening customer relationships, and improving financial performance through scalable processes and accountable leadership.

The successful candidate will oversee Project Managers and Service Managers, drive project execution, ensure timely billing and closeout, and push for margin improvement and productivity.

I'm supporting a confidential search for a well-established mechanical services contractor who is seeking an Operations Manager to lead its growing Commercial HVAC Service Division. With a strong focus on operational excellence, customer relationships and financial performance, this person will play a key role in driving departmental performance, developing leaders and supporting the continued growth of the business.

This is a key leadership role with responsibility for:

• Leading the day-to-day operational performance of the Commercial HVAC Service Division
• Managing and developing Project Managers and Service Managers
• Driving project execution, completion, billing and financial closeout
• Improving departmental profitability, gross margin and labor productivity
• Identifying operational inefficiencies and implementing scalable processes to support growth
• Significant operations leadership experience within commercial HVAC, mechanical contracting, commercial construction, facilities services or a related field
• Proven track record of leading managers and building accountable, high-performing teams
• Strong understanding of commercial HVAC service operations, project management and field execution
• Experience managing budgets, job costing, forecasting, gross margin and operational KPIs
• Demonstrated ability to improve operational efficiency, project performance and departmental profitability
• A hands-on, commercially minded approach with a focus on accountability, execution and continuous improvement
