Job summary

Baltimore City Public Schools seeks a Director of Equity to lead district-wide implementation of the Equity Policy and supervise or support office-wide initiatives. The role provides training and consultation to staff, serving as a prioritized consultant on district policy, practices, and procedures.

Responsibilities include supervising Equity teams, managing recruitment and data, and developing professional development to build a rigorous, inclusive school climate.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required from an accredited institution.
• MSDE professional licensure with Advanced Professional Certificate, Administrator I.
• At least ten years of professional experience, with five years in people management.
• Ability to interact with diverse constituencies with tact and diplomacy.
• Proficient in electronic databases, case management, and Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to exercise independent judgment.
• Experience in research, presenting policies, assembling data, and presenting recommendations.
• Ability to work collaboratively and build relationships across levels.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, meet deadlines, and maintain attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Lead implementation of the Equity Policy district-wide.
• Supervise or support office-wide Equity initiatives.
• Provide training and consultation across the organization on equity practices.
• Develop staff professional development and onboarding plans.
• Manage recruitment, selection, and data reporting for the Office of Equity.
• Serve on district Policy Review Team and Leadership Team.
• Collaborate with offices to apply an equity lens in decision-making.
