Job summary

STO Building Group is seeking a Safety Director to lead the Company’s ESH program, ensuring a safe and compliant environment for employees, clients, subcontractors, and the public. The role requires coordinating with SBUs, executives, and health and safety teams to foster a proactive safety culture across multiple locations.

Responsibilities include guiding safety investigations, implementing corrective actions, and delivering safety training aligned with business expectations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental health & safety, safety management, construction or related field.
• Minimum 15 years of direct commercial construction safety experience.
• Board Certified Safety Professional designation preferred (CSP, ASP, or CHST).
• OSHA 510 Certification obtained within the last 24 months.
• Strong understanding of construction safety regulations, risk management, IH practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead the ESH program and ensure a safe, healthy work environment.
• Support field personnel to promote safe project operations.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulations.
• Report to VP ESH and support SBU leadership.
• Oversee incident investigations and root-cause analyses.
