Job summary

SHRM, located in Alexandria, VA, seeks a Director of Enterprise Technology to lead the strategy and governance of our technology environment. You will oversee architecture, roadmap, and investments to enable business objectives while managing risk and security concerns.

You will chair governance forums, coordinate with vendors and MSPs, and drive portfolio decisions that balance cost with strategic impact. This role blends senior leadership with hands-on transformation.

Qualifications

• Ten (10) or more years of leadership experience in enterprise technology, infrastructure, or IT management.
• Strong knowledge of enterprise infrastructure, cloud platforms, Microsoft technologies, cybersecurity, networking, and identity management.
• Experience leading enterprise technology governance, strategic planning, portfolio management, and technology investment decisions.
• Ability to translate complex technology concepts into business-focused recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute SHRM's enterprise technology strategy, roadmap, and investment priorities.
• Chair the Technology Operating Steering Committee and establish governance processes.
• Provide executive oversight of co-sourced technology operations and managed services.
• Lead portfolio planning and governance, prioritizing initiatives by alignment and impact.
• Oversee cybersecurity strategy, risk management, regulatory compliance, and information security initiatives.
• Manage relationships with vendors, cloud providers, MSPs, and strategic partners.
• Foster partnerships across the business to align technology with strategy.
