Job summary

Salesforce, Inc. is seeking a Director, Business Information Security Officer to lead security programs across a major business unit. You will own risk management, architecture decisions, and interact with CISO, CIO, and Board audiences, shaping secure-by-design practices across the software development lifecycle.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience in cybersecurity engineering, IT risk, or related field.
• Experience as a BISO, Security Partner, or senior security leader for a business unit/product line.
• Proven ability to lead and develop security professionals and high-performing teams.
• Deep technical knowledge of cloud, identity, application security, and AI/ML risks; capable of design reviews and threat modeling.
• Familiar with COSO, NIST CSF, NIST SP 800-53; knowledge of FedRAMP, SOX, and regional data protection.

Responsibilities

• Own the security relationship for the assigned BU and represent security voice to leadership.
• Manage risk register, set severity, prioritization, and buy-down sequencing; route risk-acceptance decisions.
• Develop risk buy-down plans with named owners and dates; ensure progress.
• Lead security input on design reviews, SDLC, and secure-by-design patterns.
• Deliver quarterly reviews, risk narratives, and posture metrics for CISO/CIO/Board.
• Coordinate with CSOC, technical program managers, and other specialists to drive outcomes.
• Monitor AI/ML risks and govern prompt injection and data governance; turn into risk decisions.
• Incorporate regulatory requirements (FedRAMP, SOX, data protection) into risk view with Legal/Privacy/Compliance.
• Promote adoption of security tooling, telemetry, and data-driven decisions.
• Coach and grow Security Partner Leads; set cadence and deliverables; develop successors.
• Use AI assistants for executive-quality analysis and drafts; scale with the team.
• Collaborate with Enterprise Security leadership on cross-portfolio programs.
