Job summary

The University of Texas Permian Basin is seeking a Director of Enrollment Management Analytics & Reporting, based in Odessa, TX. This leadership role drives data strategy, reporting, and analytics across enrollment pipelines to inform strategic decisions and improve performance.

You will manage data workflows across multiple systems, develop dashboards and KPIs, and partner with Institutional Research and admissions to forecast enrollment and optimize processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in data analytics, statistics, information systems, computer science, institutional research, higher education administration, business analytics, or a related field.
  • Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in data analytics, reporting, BI, institutional research, enrollment systems, or related area.
  • Experience querying, transforming, validating, analyzing, and reporting on large data sets and developing dashboards or recurring decision-support products.
  • Experience working with a CRM, student information system, document-management system, relational database, external data feed, or comparable institutional platform.
  • Experience developing forecasts, projection models, scenario analyses, or comparable analytical products and communicating findings to leadership.
  • Experience coordinating complex cross-functional data or reporting initiatives with recurring deadlines and confidential student or institutional information.

Responsibilities

  • Own data-management and reporting workflows for enrollment sources.
  • Manage the OnBase document repository and related workflows for Enrollment Management admission documents.
  • Coordinate approved data imports, exports, integrations, and recurring exchanges and reconcile records across enrollment systems and external sources.
  • Maintain current documentation, data dictionaries, business rules, report specifications, schedules, and standard operating procedures for assigned data and reporting processes.
  • Oversee scheduled data-sharing agreements and recurring data exchanges with independent school districts, two-year institutions, and other authorized partners.
  • Manage UTPB Direct Admissions reporting and related data-quality, reconciliation, and partner requirements.
  • Lead Dual Credit THECB FAST reporting in coordination with Institutional Research, Dual Credit, THECB, TEA, and other responsible offices.
  • Manage Transfer Calculator first-source reporting, validation, documentation, and issue resolution with responsible partners.
  • Design, execute, maintain, and improve customized reports using Slate, Argos, Tableau, Excel, SPSS, Python, SQL, or other approved reporting and analytics tools.
  • Develop dashboards, tables, visualizations, and KPIs reporting for recruitment funnels, applications, admission, yield, enrollment, direct admissions, dual credit, and partner performance.
  • Conduct funnel analytics and develop enrollment forecasts, projection models, and scenario analyses in collaboration with internal and external partners; document assumptions, methods, limitations, and results.
  • Integrate approved external data sources to enhance enrollment intelligence, benchmark performance, and contextualize UTPB enrollment results.
  • Produce executive-ready analyses, present key findings and insights, and communicate conclusions, risks, options, and recommendations verbally and in writing.
  • Establish and maintain data-validity checks; audit, reconcile, clean, transform, and integrate data; and document corrective action or escalation when discrepancies are identified.
  • Review reports, dashboards, models, and data products for accuracy, completeness, consistency, timeliness, and appropriate interpretation before release.
  • Develop and implement plans for report and model maintenance, improvement, enhancement, version control, and continuity.
  • Manage renewal, data, analytics, and reporting requirements for Common App, ApplyTexas, UTPB Direct Admissions, Encoura, College Board, and other assigned vendors or partners within delegated authority.

Salary Range

Essential Functions

Enrollment Data and Platform Management

  1. 1. Own data-management and reporting workflows for Common App, ApplyTexas, UTPB Direct Admissions, Encoura, College Board, Slate, PeopleSoft, OnBase, and other approved enrollment sources.

  4. 4. Experience with THECB, TEA, dual-credit reporting, data-sharing agreements, or higher-education regulatory and partner reporting.
  5. 5. Experience coordinating vendor renewals, data requirements, analytics deliverables, or complex projects.
  6. 6. Supervisory, work-lead, project-lead, data-governance, or formal quality-assurance experience.

Schedule

Generally, the normal work hours for the university are Monday through Thursday, 7:30 – 5:30 pm; Friday, 8:00 am – 12:00 pm with a one-hour lunch. The individual holding this position may need to be available early morning, evening, and on weekends to meet the needs of the department. Hours worked may differ with some departments.

Standard Working Conditions

  1. 1. Able to lift various materials up to 25 pounds on an occasional basis.
  2. 2. Able to bend, crouch, and reach continuously.
  3. 3. Physically able remain seated, frequently to continuously.
  4. 4. Able to remain standing up to 15% of the time.
  5. 5. Possesses dexterity abilities required to perform job duties including extensive keyboard work, operating office equipment, performing filing, and other job-related responsibilities that include extensive wrist and hand movement.
