Job summary

Qualifications

• 8+ years in engineering leadership and end-to-end technical delivery.
• Experience scaling complex hardware products, specifically rocket motors or similar high-volume systems.
• Proven ability to establish and optimize rigorous engineering development processes, QA, configuration management, and V&V strategies.
• Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Own the tactical execution of product development work, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality engineering products.
• Cultivate a proactive team culture emphasizing ownership, quality, and engineering rigor.
• Set clear goals and performance expectations; conduct reviews and give feedback.
• Manage and prioritize team resource allocation across multiple product development programs.
• Recruit, hire, and retain top-tier engineering talent with coaching and career development.
• Align product and technical roadmaps with business objectives.
• Establish a Design Engineering Center of Excellence and promote best practices.
• Identify and advocate for new tools and capabilities to support future design needs.
• Establish and monitor KPIs for team effectiveness and process improvements.
• Serve as escalation point for technical roadblocks and conflicts.
• Ensure documentation quality and timely delivery of design and test results.
• Capture knowledge to shorten future design cycles.
• Communicate portfolio status to executives and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with cross-functional leaders for end-to-end product delivery.
