Job summary

Addition Management, headquartered in Spartanburg, SC, seeks a Director of Engineering to lead a growing HVAC product team. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (advanced degrees preferred).
• 10+ years in HVAC engineering and product development, with water-source and air-cooled products.
• Knowledge of terminal HVAC systems, refrigeration components, air handling, piping, and valves.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks, CAD, and AI-powered design automation tools.
• Experience working with international teams and suppliers, particularly in Asia.
• Domestic and international travel required (5–10%).

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a high-performing engineering team, including local and overseas staff.
• Oversee end-to-end product development from concept to launch for HVAC & Thermal Systems.
• Drive new product initiatives to meet market needs and business goals.
• Coordinate with international partners to optimize design, manufacturing, and supply chain.
• Oversee design, modeling, performance simulation, and prototype development.
• Develop testing protocols to ensure performance, reliability and compliance.
• Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Operations and vendors to meet specs.
• Manage product certifications and compliance (AHRI, DOE, ETL, UL).
• Identify cost-saving opportunities for existing and new product lines.
• Ensure thorough documentation of design processes and robust QA.
