Job Opportunity: Director of Engineering, Maintenance, & Security

Summary

The Director of Engineering, Maintenance, EH&S, and Security, reporting to the SVP of Operations and Supply Chain, will oversee all facets of Engineering, Maintenance, Security, and MRO Buying. This role is pivotal in driving strategic initiatives to enhance manufacturing processes and business operations, ensuring sustainable improvements and significant financial impact. The Director will be accountable for master planning of capital and improvement projects across all manufacturing operations, corporate sustainability efforts, and site facilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead strategic planning and continuous improvement in Engineering, Maintenance, MRO, EH&S, and Security.
• Oversee overall business continuity and support sustainability initiatives.
• Manage all aspects of the physical facility, including mechanical, electrical, and process engineering and maintenance.
• Apply best purchasing practices to procure parts and supplies efficiently.
• Ensure safety and security measures are in place at all sites.
• Lead cross-functional teams on improvement projects, managing project selection, prioritization, and execution.
• Translate strategic plans and KPIs into actionable projects.
• Implement Lean manufacturing tools to reduce costs and waste.
• Use Six Sigma methodologies to identify and eliminate constraints, improving productivity.
• Research and recommend manufacturing technology best practices.
• Support long-term capacity planning and capital development.
• Manage technical knowledge of manufacturing equipment and facilities.
• Oversee installation of process equipment and compliance during audits.
• Design and monitor infrastructure improvements, ensuring cGMP compliance.
• Collaborate on quality issues, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering
• 5-10 years of experience in engineering, maintenance, facilities, security, and safety oversight
• Strong CAPEX and financial justification skills
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Proven project management experience
• Commitment to team development

Supervisory Responsibilities

Manage staff in Engineering, Maintenance, and Security, including hiring, training, performance evaluation, and disciplinary actions.
