Director of Engineering & Maintenance

We’re looking for a Director of Engineering & Maintenance with experience in automation and heavy industry who is strategic, a problem solver, a troubleshooter, and understands the importance of being on the shop or production floor for our client in the greater Youngstown area.

KEY REQUIREMENTS Include:

• 10+ years of experience in a progressive leadership role required.
• 5+ years of experience in the heavy industry manufacturing sector required.
• Ability to create/implement Strategic plans.
• Experience & knowledge of bringing automation into a mfg plant.
• Safety 1st Focus
• Servant Leader
• Mentor/Coach | Training
• Willingness & desire to spend time on the shop floor, especially when equipment is down.
• Lean Manufacturing Experience / Continuous improvement experience preferred.
• Strong Analytical, Problem-Solving, Delegation, Conflict Resolution, Motivational and Team Building skills.
• Ability to make effective decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with developing budgets & has a good business acumen.
  
  

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in engineering highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the Engineering & Maintenance Team.
• Create/implement Strategic Plan
• Responsibility for every aspect of Capital Projects.
• Work directly with the Maintenance team when a machine goes down.
• Develop metrics to track equipment uptime & utilization to ensure functionality & reliability of facility systems and associated equipment.
• Work collaboratively with Production
• Analyze the performance of the Engineering & Maintenance Team and make recommendations for improvement.
• Direct and assist with establishing and accomplishing maintenance and engineering KPI’s to measure performance of the department.
