Job summary

Delano Miami Beach is seeking a Director of Engineering to establish and direct maintenance and safety objectives for the property. This role provides leadership to the engineering department and ensures deadlines are met while maintaining high operational standards.

The position involves managing budgets, overseeing vendors, collaborating with senior management, and driving facility improvement projects to enhance guest experience and sustainability across the property.

Qualifications

• College Degree in Business, Hospitality, or Related field preferred.
• At least five (5) years of hands-on maintenance experience and three (3) years supervisory preferably in an upscale or lifestyle brand hotel.
• Proven team leader with high energy and motivation, aligning with the company's values.
• Proficient with Opera, Microsoft Word, Excel & Outlook.
• Ability to work independently and in teams with excellent English communication.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain relationships with senior management and key partners to support engineering and facility management.
• Develop and implement short and long-term facility management and engineering strategies.
• Define and improve service levels and support models to protect capital investments.
• Manage operating and capital budgets for repairs, maintenance, and projects.
• Oversee third-party vendors to meet scope, schedule, budget, and quality standards.
• Ensure health and safety compliance with local laws and company policies.
