Why We’re Looking

We are seeking an experienced Director of Engineering for our iService product to lead our engineering team while aligning with our strategic objectives. The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with leadership skills and is willing to contribute hands-on to code when necessary. Your leadership will be instrumental in delivering innovative service lane solutions that empower dealerships nationwide.

What You’ll Do

Organizational & Technical Leadership:

• Foster psychological safety and build an engineering organization focused on excellence, reliability, and predictable delivery
• Collaborate with Lead Engineers to ensure teams have resources to achieve goals while managing cross-team relationships
• Maintain technical proficiency in our stack (PHP, MariaDB, Symfony, React/TypeScript), participate in code reviews when needed, and lead our AWS migration
• Guide architectural decisions for scalability and maintainability while staying current with industry trends

Team Management & Strategic Planning

• Mentor Lead Engineers, optimize team performance, and establish clear accountability
• Engage with stakeholders to align team objectives with business priorities and craft development strategies supporting long-term growth
• Identify opportunities to enhance system reliability while ensuring compliance with security and regulatory standards

Operational Excellence & HR Management

• Develop internal policies and training programs to address skill gaps
• Oversee hiring, compensation, and performance management while driving recruitment efforts
• Collaborate with HR on onboarding processes and employee retention strategies

What We’re Looking For

• BS in Computer Science or similar field with 8+ years of software engineering experience and 3+ years of engineering management
• Strong technical background with hands-on experience in PHP, MariaDB/MySQL, Symfony, React/TypeScript, and AWS cloud services
• Experience in SaaS product development, preferably in automotive industry
• Excellent communication skills with ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders
• Proven track record of building high-performing teams, delivering projects on time, and balancing strategic vision with tactical execution
