Job Description

The Director of Engineering leads a team of engineers responsible for highly complex data-driven initiatives. This role requires a deep understanding of data science, analytics, and machine learning frameworks to develop innovative solutions using cloud computing. The Director collaborates with decision science, product design, enterprise teams, and business partners.

This role involves leading the development of two platforms: the Labor Insights Platform (LIP) and the Finance Insights Platform (FIP). These platforms aim to leverage labor and financial data to provide actionable insights, optimize decision-making, and improve business performance, while ensuring compliance and security.

The Director oversees full-stack product engineering, including data engineering, ingestion, model deployment, visualization, web applications, APIs, and webhooks. The role is hands-on, requiring involvement in code reviews, design, architecture, and deployment, with a focus on security and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Platform Leadership: Design, develop, and scale LIP and FIP, establishing a unified data source with embedded security and compliance.
  • Data Integration and Ingestion: Manage data ingestion for LIP (metadata and employee data) and FIP (financial data from Oracle and Azure), ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
  • Advanced Analytics Enablement: Develop frameworks for AI/ML insights related to labor and finance, aligned with other platforms like OIP, CDP, and FIH.
  • Cross-Platform Collaboration: Coordinate outputs with other platforms and collaborate with stakeholders to meet strategic needs while maintaining compliance.
  • Security and Governance: Implement security frameworks, data governance, access controls, and compliance measures.
  • Outcome-Focused Delivery: Enable workforce planning and financial forecasting through dashboards and insights, ensuring security and compliance.
  • Technology Oversight: Use Microsoft Azure and Oracle, ensuring scalable, resilient, and secure platform development, with standards for data engineering and visualization.
Domicile and Qualifications

This position can be remote within the United States. Requires a Bachelor's Degree and 6-9 years of experience in computer science, information systems, engineering, mathematics, or equivalent. Extensive knowledge in data engineering, machine learning frameworks, and large systems development is essential. Leadership experience and strong communication skills are also required.

Preferred Qualifications & Compensation

Salary range: $14,333 - $21,500 per month. The role offers health, vision, dental insurance, retirement plans, and tuition reimbursement. Application deadline: May 13, 2025.
