Job summary

Millennium is seeking a Director of Engineering to lead the Engineering Business Unit, driving profitability, staffing, and delivery excellence. You will own budgets, forecasting, and KPI design, collaborating with senior leaders to optimize margins and client satisfaction.

The role emphasizes strategic planning, cross-functional leadership, and ongoing development of engineering talent, with a focus on sustainable growth and operational discipline across all programs.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in telecom, fiber/broadband infrastructure or similar capital-project environment.
• Direct accountability for unit margin, budget, and cost structure.
• Fluency with ERP/BI tools and comfortable presenting to executives.
• Experience building leadership bench and running succession planning.

Responsibilities

• Own gross margin and EBITDA performance for the Engineering Business Unit.
• Own annual budget, forecasting, and staffing plans for the unit.
• Own cost structures and delivery economics, aligning with client-facing rate cards.
• Design and monitor departmental KPIs and reporting through NetSuite/Domo.
• Own backlog, workload forecasting, and resource allocation across projects.
• Own client retention and proactive response to client needs.
• Own tool and technology evaluation and recommendations for the unit.
• Own monthly reporting on status, performance, and metrics.
• Own succession planning and leadership development pipeline.
• Partner on strategic planning and risk assessment with VP.
