Job summary

Millennium is seeking a Director of Engineering to lead the Engineering Business Unit, owning delivery execution, profitability, and operational scaling. The role partners with the VP of Strategic Solutions and drives unit economics, staffing plans, and KPI-backed reporting.

The candidate brings 10+ years in telecom/fiber infrastructure, experience with OSP workflows and major carriers, and a proven ability to build leadership and succession pipelines while reporting to executive leadership.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in telecom, fiber/broadband infra or similar capital-project environment.
• Direct accountability for a unit’s margin, budget, and cost structure.
• Experience coordinating OSP engineering, design, and permitting with major national carriers.

Responsibilities

• Own gross margin and EBITDA performance for the Engineering Business Unit.
• Own annual budget, forecasting and staffing plans translated into unit-wide plan.
• Own cost structures and delivery economics with linkage to client-rate cards.
• Design and monitor KPIs for the unit and report through NetSuite/Domo.
• Oversee backlog and resource forecasting across projects.
• Ensure high client retention with proactive relationship management.
• Oversee tool and technology evaluation for the unit.
• Lead monthly status reporting to management with data-backed insights.
• Develop leadership bench and succession planning.
