Hilton Richmond in the historic Miller & Rhoads building seeks a Director of Engineering to lead engineering, maintenance and facilities operations for the property. This role supervises engineers and maintenance staff and ensures safe, efficient operations for guests and associates.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Technical or vocational training in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, or related fields preferred.
  • Certifications such as EPA, CPO, HVAC license, or similar credentials strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 5–7 years of hotel or commercial facility maintenance experience.
  • Previous supervisory or management experience in engineering required.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all engineering and maintenance operations to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable building performance.
  • Lead, train, coach, and evaluate engineering staff including supervisors and maintenance technicians.
  • Manage the preventive maintenance program for all building systems and equipment.
  • Conduct regular property inspections to identify maintenance needs and safety issues.
  • Coordinate major repairs, capital projects, and contracted maintenance work.
  • Maintain documentation of work orders, inspection logs, PM schedules, and compliance records.
  • Ensure equipment and building systems comply with OSHA, fire/life safety, and regulatory standards.
  • Manage inventory, tools, equipment, and parts to support operations.
