Job Title: Engineering Manager (with CTO Potential)

Leveraging cutting-edge technology, our platform offers personalized recommendations, seamless group coordination, and fosters a vibrant community of users eager to explore life together.

Job Overview:

We’re seeking an Engineering Manager who can take charge of our engineering team and help shape our technology strategy. This role involves leading the development of new features, ensuring platform scalability and reliability, and mentoring our talented developers. The ideal candidate will be both a technical expert and an inspiring leader, with the potential to eventually step into the CTO role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the Engineering Team: Provide direction, mentorship, and hands-on support to our developers, including our Frontend Development Team and Grad Student Intern Program.
• Oversee Development Projects: Manage the end-to-end development process for new features and improvements to the app.
• Ensure Platform Stability: Maintain and enhance the performance, scalability, and security of our platform.
• Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with product, design, and marketing teams to align technical solutions with business goals.
• Innovate and Improve: Identify and drive opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement within our tech stack and development practices.

What You Bring:

• Proven Experience: 8+ years in software engineering, including at least 2 years in a leadership role. Extensive experience in mobile development is essential.
• Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of our tech stack, including React Native, TypeScript, Firebase, NestJS, PostgreSQL, GraphQL, Docker, and GCP. Familiarity with additional technologies like Hasura and Knex.js is a plus.
• Leadership Skills: Demonstrated experience leading engineering teams and delivering high-quality products in a fast-paced environment.
• Problem-Solving Abilities: Strategic thinker with the ability to address complex technical challenges while balancing business needs.
• Passion for Our Mission: A genuine interest in using technology to foster connections and make a positive societal impact.
