What You'll Be Doing All Day
We're looking for a hands-on technical leader who can serve as both a strategic visionary and tactical executor. As a "player-coach," you'll balance high-level technical strategy with day-to-day development oversight, managing both our existing outsourced development team and building our in-house capabilities. You'll be responsible for transforming our current product into a scalable, long-term technical asset while dramatically increasing our development velocity without sacrificing quality.

- Partner with executive leadership to define and execute our product vision and roadmap
- Translate business requirements into technical specifications and priorities
- Make critical product decisions based on customer feedback, market trends, and business goals
- Measure product performance and iterate based on metrics and user feedback
- Serve as the ultimate authority on product functionality and quality standards
- Demonstrated ability to be customer facing as and when appropriate
Technical Leadership
- Develop a comprehensive technical strategy that leverages both in-house and outsourced development resources
- Lean-in to AI early and often - identifying opportunities to integrate AI capabilities into our product and development processes
- Evaluate and optimize our current architecture for scalability, security, and performance
- Implement development best practices, coding standards, and quality assurance processes
- Very strong knowledge of DevOps and CI/CD, with strong opinions on how to leverage automated workflows to ensure quality and agility
- Manage technical debt while maintaining rapid development cycles
- Make strategic technology decisions that position us for long-term success
- Build and lead a high-performing hybrid team of in-house and outsourced engineers
- Create processes that maximize the effectiveness of distributed development resources
- Coach and mentor team members to reach their full potential
- Foster a culture of ownership, innovation, and continuous improvement
- Recruit top technical talent as we grow our in-house capabilities
What Makes You Our 'Ace'
Experience
- 5+ years of experience in technical leadership roles at fast-growing technology companies
- Proven track record of successfully managing outsourced development teams
- Experience transitioning from outsourced to in-house development (or hybrid models)
- Background in healthcare technology, SaaS platforms, or GovCon industries preferred
- Startup experience strongly preferred, especially in early-stage environments
Technical Skills
- Contribute in all technical aspects to get the job done (software development, infrastructure, IT, architecture, etc…)
- Experience leveraging AI technologies to enhance product capabilities and development efficiency
- Expertise in web application development, API design,cloud infrastructure (ideally AWS), DevX
- Strong understanding of data and its critical role in building intelligent insights and positioning it as an asset for the business
- Knowledge of security and compliance requirements relevant to healthcare and government sectors (SOC2 & HIPAA)
- Ability to evaluate technical trade-offs and make pragmatic decisions under uncertainty
- Familiarity with agile development practices and project management tools
