Job summary

Omni Interlocken Resort is seeking a Director of Engineering to lead the hotel’s maintenance team during a major reimagining of guest rooms, spaces and outlets. This role reports to senior leadership and ensures cost-effective, safe operations across all engineering functions.

The ideal candidate has extensive facilities maintenance, HVAC and hotel engineering leadership experience, with a track record of managing teams and delivering high guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Extensive facilities maintenance, HVAC and mechanical experience required.
• Prior hotel engineering leadership experience is essential.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
• Willingness to work weekends and other required times.
• Ability to operate both interior and exterior hotel areas.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and operate heating, lighting, power and repair & maintenance for the hotel.
• Supervise maintenance programs and facility inspections for safety and efficiency.
• Coordinate with departments to meet safety, health and policy standards.
• Hire, train and discipline engineering staff in collaboration with HR.
• Directly supervise utilities control to ensure guest comfort and service quality.
• Lead major renovations to modernize guest areas and amenities.

Director of Engineering

Omni Interlocken Resort & Spa is seeking a Director of Engineering to join our outstanding maintenance and repair team and to lead the hotel through a major exciting reimagining of the property – guest rooms, public space, and restaurants/bars! This vital role will work closely with the General Manager and Engineering Leaders to oversee all operations relating to the Engineering department, resulting in high levels of guest satisfaction and associate development. This highly motivated individual will ensure proper training and supervision of all Engineering personnel and provide consistent, cost-effective maintenance programs that ensure the Hotels safe and efficient operation.

Salary range for this position (based on experience): $130,000 - $150,000/year.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and operate, in an economical, legal and safe manner, all Heating, Lighting, Power and Repair & Maintenance for the hotel.
• Inspect physical plant and equipment and shall supervise maintenance and preventative maintenance program of that area.
• Coordinate with other departments all work necessary to maintain general conditions, safety and health standards set forth by hotel policy and legal requirements.
• Interview, hire, counsel, train, and discipline engineering associates, in coordination with the Director of Human Resources.
• Directly supervises Engineering associates in operation and control of utilities to provide efficient operation of hotel services and comfort to guests.
• Recommend to management possible projects for future capital budgets. Obtain bids, supervise and coordinate contractors in performance of project work.
• Maintain own and hotel's special permits and licenses as required by local authorities.
• Control schedules, staffing and payroll of Engineering associates. Compile personnel records, logs utilities and keep Engineering records.
• Inspect physical plant and equipment and shall supervise maintenance and preventative maintenance program of that area.
• Lead the hotel through major renovations that will create an updated and beautiful place for our guests to create memorable experiences.

Qualifications

• Must have extensive facilities maintenance, HVAC and mechanical experience.
• Prior hotel engineering experience and proven leadership experience required.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Must be willing to work weekends and at any other times as required.
• Ability to work in the interior and exterior of the hotel/resort.
• Experience managing a crew of 10 or more.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs without assistance
• Ability to stand, sit, bend, lift, for extended periods of time.
