Job summary

JPMorganChase seeks an Executive Director Data Management Architecture to lead the architectural vision for a large-scale employee data platform. The role involves designing ingestion, refinement, and access solutions, mentoring a team of architects and engineers, and partnering with governance and product teams to ensure scalable, secure data delivery across the enterprise.

You will drive multi-domain data modeling, define reference patterns, and establish data quality and operational controls

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on data architecture concepts and 10+ years of applied experience; 5+ years leading technologists within your domain.
• Significant experience designing and delivering large-scale data platforms including ingestion, refinement, and serving layers.
• Experience with transactional systems, real-time streaming, and event-driven architectures for reliability and scalability.
• Proven ability to design extensible, modular, and evolvable platforms with clear interfaces and backward-compatible changes.
• Strong data modeling skills across conceptual, logical, and physical layers; emphasis on interoperability.
• Experience driving data governance, metadata, lineage, ownership, and quality management.
• Strong stakeholder management with the ability to translate business needs into roadmaps.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Define target-state architecture for employee data ingestion, refinement, storage, and access with scale and maintainability.
• Establish architectural principles and reference patterns for modular and evolvable platforms.
• Design ingestion and integration patterns for batch and streaming systems with schema evolution and fault tolerance.
• Architect refinement pipelines producing trusted curated datasets and standard entities/events.
• Lead integration of transactional, batch, and real-time data movement with low latency and idempotent processing.
• Guide data modeling across domains and ensure consistent metadata and documentation.
• Define controls for data quality, lineage, monitoring, and runbooks; support platform operations.
• Collaborate with governance, product, and control stakeholders to ensure ownership and change management.
• Ensure responsible handling of personal information and alignment with firm data risk expectations.
• Lead and mentor data architects and engineers; provide reviews and hands-on guidance.
