Job summary

The Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Communications Center seeks a Communications Director to plan, direct, and manage all operations, including 9-1-1 call taking, dispatch, and public safety systems. Qualifications

• Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities include degree/certifications as listed, plus experience in public safety communications.
• Must have or obtain TCIC/NCIC Full Access Certification.
• Experience with budgeting and capital planning is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Directs all daily operations of the 9-1-1 communications center including call-taking and dispatch.
• Develops and implements policies to ensure compliance with regulations and best practices.
• Oversees budgeting, personnel, equipment, and capital improvements.
• Coordinates with internal divisions and external agencies for interoperability and mutual aid.
• Directs training, certification, and performance management of staff.
