Job summary

SiMa.ai, Inc. in San Jose, CA, is seeking a hands-on Director of Embedded Software Engineering to lead the US SoC software team, drive technical direction, and coordinate with global teams on MLSoC SDK delivery.

You will own OS, boot software, device drivers, and embedded Linux applications, while guiding architecture and code reviews. You will partner with silicon/hardware teams, manage headcount and budgets, and mentor engineers to deliver high-performance software across multiple subsystems.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in embedded software
• 5+ years of people management/supervisory experience
• Hands-on with ARM 64-bit processors and firmware
• Experience with U-Boot, secure boot and image signing
• Experience with Linux kernel and device drivers

Responsibilities

• Own roadmap, schedule, quality and release of MLSoC SDK features for the US team
• Contribute to architecture, design and code reviews; perform critical bring-up
• Set technical direction for secure boot chain and image authentication
• Direct development of drivers for interfaces (PCIe, MIPI, USB, Ethernet, etc.)
• Lead, hire and develop the US embedded software team and plan headcount/budget
