Job summary

PABCO, Building Products, is seeking a Director of Environmental Health & Safety to join our leadership team in Rancho Cordova. This role leads EHS strategy across the subsidiary, guiding safety, regulatory programs, workers’ compensation oversight, wellness initiatives, and continuous improvement.

You will partner with plant leadership, supervise EHS staff, ensure compliance with OSHA and federal/state/local regulations, and drive subsidiary-wide EHS excellence. Travel up to 50% is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety or related field.
• 10+ years of EHS experience in manufacturing.
• 5+ years of leadership or management experience.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and environmental compliance.
• Experience leading multi-site safety and environmental programs.
• Proven ability to influence leaders and build relationships.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Experience using data and metrics to improve safety performance.
• Professional certifications like CSP/CIH/CHMM are a plus.
• Ability to travel up to 50%.

Responsibilities

• Lead EHS programs across multiple locations and the subsidiary.
• Partner with plant leadership to promote proactive safety culture and improvements.
• Provide leadership and direction to location EHS staff.
• Ensure OSHA and environmental compliance across sites.
• Oversee incident investigations, audits, and safety reporting.
• Direct workers’ compensation, return-to-work, and modified duty processes.
• Oversee environmental permits and waste management programs.
• Utilize data and reporting to identify trends and reduce risk.
• Support safety training and wellness initiatives.
• Monitor regulatory changes and implement program updates.
• Recruit and develop direct reports.
