Job summary

ABM Industries is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to lead safety programs across multiple Northern California client locations. This hybrid role covers San Francisco and Redwood City, with substantial travel (50-60%) to sites throughout the region.

The role emphasizes partner- ship with operations, risk mitigation, audits, incident investigations, and JHA facilitation to elevate safety culture and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
• 2-5 years of EHS, Occupational Health & Safety, HSE, or Safety Management experience.
• Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Experience conducting audits, inspections, incident investigations, root cause analysis, and risk assessments.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel approximately 50-60%.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the EHS leader supporting strategic multi-site client accounts.
• Partner with operations leaders to identify, assess, and mitigate workplace risks.
• Conduct safety audits, inspections, hazard assessments, and risk assessments.
• Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective/preventive action plans.
• Facilitate Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and support implementation of safe work practices.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, recordkeeping requirements, and company safety programs.
• Maintain OSHA 300 logs, training records, and compliance documentation.
• Deliver safety training, coaching, and field support to managers and frontline employees.
• Analyze safety metrics, identify trends, and provide recommendations to leadership.
• Support new account startups, operational transitions, and client safety initiatives.
• Drive continuous improvement efforts that strengthen safety culture and operational excellence.
