Job Summary

As the Director of E-Commerce at Moultrie, you will be at the forefront of steering our retailer ecommerce platforms including Amazon, Walmart, and other significant digital shelves where our brand is represented. This leadership role encompasses comprehensive ownership of strategy formulation, profit and loss management, and primary decision-making responsibilities aimed at driving sustained growth and increased market presence across all retailer digital marketplaces.

Your strategic focus will predominantly be on Amazon, which commands approximately 80% of your attention, ensuring that each initiative optimizes customer acquisition cost (CAC) while maximizing revenue streams and profitability metrics. The remaining focus area covers Walmart.com and various other retailer channels, where you will apply the same level of analytical rigor and strategic foresight to deliver value and competitive advantage.

In addition to managing the dynamics between vendor and seller central channels, you will lead the integration of retailer ecommerce operations with direct-to-consumer (DTC) functions, expanding your team's capabilities and scope over time. This role offers the opportunity to influence the entire online buying experience from merchandising to marketing, while driving operational excellence and business scalability.

Job Responsibilities

Team Leadership and Development

  • Lead the retailer ecommerce team, defining the structure, hiring strategy, and establishing performance benchmarks to foster a high-achieving culture.
  • Develop scalable team capabilities as ecommerce and DTC functions merge, promoting continuous learning and professional growth.

Amazon Platform Management and Strategic Growth (~80% Focus)

  • Hold complete ownership of Amazon's P&L, overseeing revenue streams, advertising spend, margin contributions, and optimizing CAC.
  • Drive informed allocation of marketing budgets across Amazon's advertising suite including Sponsored Products, Brands, Display, and Demand-Side Platform (DSP).
  • Implement advanced audience targeting strategies through Amazon Marketing Cloud and incorporate online video advertising to enhance brand visibility and customer engagement.

  • Lead content strategies enhancing Amazon listings, including A+ content creation and premium brand store management, to maintain leadership in category rankings.

  • Strategize pricing models and execute promotional initiatives aligned with key sales events such as Prime Day and Black Friday/Cyber Monday to maximize conversion rates and revenue spikes.

  • Determine the optimal mix between Vendor Central and Seller Central across product lines, adapting swiftly to market shifts to protect margins while maintaining control over brand representation.

  • Manage account health proactively by monitoring Buy Box ownership, addressing suppressed listings, combating unauthorized sellers, and enforcing MAP pricing and brand registry protections.

  • Oversee annual planning including detailed forecasting, budget allocations, and assortment planning to align cross-functional teams and streamline execution.

  • Lead new product launches with comprehensive asset planning, SEO integration, ad strategy deployment, and precise launch performance tracking.

Walmart.com and Other Retailer Ecommerce Channels (~20% Focus)

  • Maintain P&L accountability while developing channel-specific strategies for Walmart.com and other digital retailers including Bass Pro, Cabela's, and regional platforms.

  • Set rigorous performance targets focused on CAC and drive execution with the same discipline as Amazon initiatives.

  • Partner closely with sales directors to ensure seamless integration of drop-ship operations, inventory management, and customer service standards for optimized retailer collaboration.

  • Safeguard brand integrity consistently across platforms through stringent pricing policies, counterfeit deterrence, and high-quality content standards.

  • Lead budgeting and promotional decisions autonomously within all retailer ecommerce channels without need for escalation.

Cross-Functional Collaboration and Reporting

  • Communicate retailer ecommerce performance insights effectively to senior leadership, highlighting successes, challenges, and strategic opportunities.

  • Coordinate promotional calendars, marketing content alignment, and channel strategies with Digital Commerce, Go-To-Market teams, and Sales leadership to provide a cohesive customer experience.

  • Collaborate with Product, Operations, and Finance to ensure inventory accuracy, margin optimization, and realistic forecasting.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of seven years leading comprehensive Amazon Seller Central and Vendor Central operations with demonstrated success managing full P&L responsibility and significant revenue growth at a comparable business scale.

  • Proven expertise in demand forecasting and inventory management within ecommerce environments, encompassing purchase order generation, stock level optimization, and replenishment methodologies.

  • Track record of executing against a holistic growth scorecard that includes revenue expansion, market share gain, profit maximization, and stringent CAC management beyond basic advertising cost and return metrics.

  • Advanced knowledge and practical application of Amazon's advertising platforms including Sponsored Products, Brands, Display, and DSP, including adept handling of budget allocation strategies and planning for critical tentpole events such as Prime Day and Black Friday/Cyber Monday.

  • Hands-on experience managing enhanced brand content development, SEO for product listings, brand storefront management, and customer review programs that drive organic ranking and sales velocity.

  • Demonstrated leadership in managing external vendors and consultants, with skills in assessing performance, redirecting scopes of work effectively, and enhancing internal team competencies.

  • Strong people management experience, including team building, performance management, and fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.

  • History of autonomous decision-making in budget and strategy, confidently leading initiatives without reliance on high-level approvals.

  • A Bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration, or a closely related discipline, underscoring foundational business acumen.

Essential Job Function

  • Exercise full ownership and accountability of retailer ecommerce business functions, seamlessly integrating strategic planning, financial management, and operational execution.

  • Guide the strategic direction and tactical execution of retailer ecommerce initiatives, ensuring alignment with company-wide objectives and robust market competition.

  • Lead and empower a diverse team of ecommerce professionals by setting clear expectations, nurturing talent development, and instituting rigorous performance evaluations.

  • Drive innovative marketing strategies and promotional plans, leveraging advanced advertising platforms and analytics to maximize brand impact and customer engagement.

  • Manage complex relationships with marketplace partners, service providers, and internal stakeholders to ensure flawless promotional events, seamless inventory management, and brand integrity protection.

  • Oversee data-driven decision making by utilizing comprehensive analytics, forecasting techniques, and performance metrics to optimize spend, enhance the customer journey, and deliver measurable business outcomes.
