Job summary

FACE Foundation seeks a Director of Donor Stewardship to strengthen donor relations, manage stewardship programs, and support major donor and foundation relationships. The role emphasizes retention, engagement, segmentation, and monthly giving within San Diego County.

The ideal candidate is data-informed, organized, and capable of independent work in a small team, with office-based duties and donor meetings as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five (5) years of professional nonprofit experience.
• Minimum of two (2) years of donor stewardship or donor relations experience.
• Passion for FACE Foundation’s mission; animal welfare advocacy.
• Experience with Salesforce and donor data management.
• Experience with donor segmentation, fundraising reporting, and automated communications.

Responsibilities

• Manage donor stewardship program with focus on retention and increased giving.
• Build relationships with recurring, mid-level, and assigned donors.
• Support annual gifts, memorial giving, sponsorships, campaigns, and events.
• Maintain donor communications, recognition, and privacy preferences.
• Respond to donor inquiries promptly and professionally.
• Maintain confidentiality of donor and organizational information.
• Design and maintain donor segmentation in Salesforce.
• Identify renewal, upgrade, and re-engagement opportunities.
• Grow monthly donor program and recurring revenue; track results.
• Advise Executive Director on major donor cultivation and stewardship.
• Support major donor research, meetings, and follow-up; coordinate foundations.
• Develop donor acknowledgments, updates, and stewardship communications.
• Maintain donor records in Salesforce; produce fundraising reports.
• Collaborate with staff and volunteers on fundraising initiatives.
