Operations Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced Distribution Center Director to oversee multi-site warehouse operations and ensure efficient, accurate, and timely distribution of products. This role will be responsible for day-to-day distribution operations, inventory management, order fulfillment, shipping, team leadership, safety, and continuous improvement.
The ideal candidate is a hands‑on leader with strong warehouse and distribution experience who can analyze operational data, improve processes, and build a high‑performing team across multiple facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day‑to‑day operations across three distribution centers, including inventory management, order fulfillment, shipping, receiving, and logistics.
- Travel to each distribution center quarterly to assess operations, meet with teams, and drive consistency across locations.
- Lead, coach, and develop warehouse employees, providing training, performance feedback, and ongoing support.
- Establish clear performance expectations and promote a culture of accountability, safety, and operational excellence.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable safety requirements.
- Monitor warehouse KPIs and operational metrics to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
- Use data and reporting tools to improve productivity, inventory accuracy, order fulfillment, and service levels.
- Identify and implement process improvements that increase efficiency and reduce operational issues.
- Ensure customer orders are processed accurately and shipped within required service‑level expectations.
- Oversee inventory processes to maintain accurate inventory levels and minimize discrepancies.
- Partner with Procurement, Customer Service, Sales, and other departments to ensure seamless coordination and timely delivery of products.
- Standardize processes and best practices across all distribution centers.
- Utilize the WMS and business intelligence tools to monitor performance and support operational decision‑making.
- Address operational challenges, resolve issues, and implement sustainable solutions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience managing warehouse or distribution center operations.
- Experience overseeing multi‑site distribution operations is strongly preferred.
- Strong leadership and team‑management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to coach, develop, and hold warehouse teams accountable.
- Strong understanding of inventory management, order fulfillment, shipping, and warehouse operations.
- Experience working with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
- Experience using operational KPIs and performance metrics to drive improvements.
- Excellent communication and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and warehouse/business reporting systems.
- Ability and willingness to travel to distribution centers approximately every 3-4 months.
- Base salary $150K - $190K based on experience
- Annual bonus eligibility based on experience
