Job summary

Guttmacher Institute is seeking a Vice President for US Policy and Communications to lead the organization’s digital communications strategy and team. The role requires guiding web, social, email, analytics, and design to amplify SRHR advocacy and policy impact.

The director will champion user-centered design and data-driven insights, translating evidence into accessible digital content, and driving platform innovation across channels.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressively senior experience in digital communications including strategy and execution.
• At least three years of management/supervision experience and an ability to thoughtfully manage team members with diverse skillsets.
• Proven ability to set digital vision and deliver measurable growth in reach, engagement, and impact.
• Demonstrated success managing complex, cross-team and organizational-wide initiatives.
• Experience overseeing high-visibility digital initiatives or flagship platforms.
• Strong leadership and change management skills, including team building, mentoring, and driving organizational transformation.
• Proficiency in digital strategy oversight, CMS, CRM, analytics, SEO/UX, and creative workflows.

Responsibilities

• Define and lead an integrated digital strategy that advances the organization’s mission.
• Champion data-driven decision-making and evaluate digital initiatives for reach, UX, SEO, and engagement.
• Establish cohesive audience-driven strategies across platforms and bespoke platform strategies.
• Serve as a strategic partner to senior leaders and fundraising teams with digital-first approaches.
