Job summary

Group1001 Insurance seeks a senior compliance leader to guide direct‑to‑consumer annuity initiatives, translating complex regulations into practical guidance for product, engineering, and marketing teams.

You will partner with Product, Operations, Marketing, and Technology to ensure compliant customer journeys and disclosures while enabling rapid, customer‑friendly execution in a fast‑paced startup within an established insurer.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive compliance experience within the life and annuity industry.
• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• Deep working knowledge of fixed and fixed index annuities, state insurance laws, NAIC model laws, advertising standards, consumer protection, and electronic delivery.
• Experience providing strategic compliance guidance for product development, digital distribution, and direct‑to‑consumer sales models in life/annuity.
• Extensive experience reviewing marketing and advertising for annuity products across digital, print, social media and other channels.
• Strong partnership and influencing skills across product, operations, technology, marketing and leadership.
• Builder mindset, capable of creating processes and tooling as the business scales.
• Comfort operating in ambiguity and startup speed within an established insurance enterprise.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, implementation, and oversight of the compliance framework for the direct‑to‑consumer annuity platform across state laws, NAIC models, FINRA/SEC, advertising, privacy, and electronic delivery.
