Job summary

Group 1001 Insurance is seeking an experienced in-house attorney to serve as a primary legal partner for insurance product development, policy wordings, and regulatory matters. The role supports multiple business lines and works with stakeholders across underwriting, risk management, finance, claims, and compliance.

The attorney will report to the Deputy General Counsel and participate in multi-state filings, licensing considerations, and regulatory strategy in a lean, high‑impact team.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
• Bar admission in CT or eligible for Connecticut Authorized House Counsel status.
• 10–15 years in P&C insurance with product development experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead legal support for new insurance product development and policy wordings.
• Draft/review policy forms, endorsements, and manuscript wordings.
• Manage multi-state form and rate filings through SERFF and coordinate regulatory approvals.
• Provide day-to-day in-house legal guidance across claims, regulatory, compliance, and corporate matters.
