Job summary

Indiana University Libraries seeks a senior leader to manage the software development team for Digital Collections and related applications. You will contribute to the Library Technologies division’s strategy and participate in planning with university IT partners.

You will drive exploration and responsible adoption of AI/ML technologies to enhance digital content discovery, and collaborate across IU departments to align software engineering with institutional goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (preferably in computer science, business systems, or related field).
• 4 years of software development experience.
• 1 year of management experience.
• Experience with open-source software and communities is preferred.
• Experience in AI/ML tools and technologies is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the software development team for Digital Collections, Avalon Media System, and related applications.
• Serve on the Library Technologies leadership team and contribute to planning.
• Lead and explore responsible AI/ML adoption for digital collections discovery and access.
• Collaborate with IU departments and other libraries to coordinate development and adoption of software and AI technologies.
• Represent IU in Samvera and IIIF communities; participate in external collaborations.
• Perform software architect, high-level design, and project management roles as needed.
