Job summary

Legacy Healthcare seeks a Director of Dietary Services to lead the dietary department, ensuring nutritious meals are prepared safely and in compliance with regulations. You will supervise cooks and aides, plan menus with the facility dietitian, manage the department budget, and drive performance improvement through QAPI initiatives.

This role requires a high school diploma, Food Sanitation Certification, and a Dietary Manager Certification; experience supervising dietary staff is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Food Sanitation Certification.
• Dietary Manager Certification in the state of practice.
• Knowledge of Federal, State and Local requirements and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct and supervise the activities of the dietary staff.
• Operate the dietary department in a safe and sanitary manner per regulations.
• Plan meals with the facility dietitian to meet nutritional needs of guests.
• Manage the dietary department budget within approved limits.
• Provide training and performance reviews for staff and guidance as needed.
• Lead QAPI and performance improvement projects in coordination with the leadership team.
• Ensure compliance with infection control practices and safety standards.
• Attend meetings and participate in in-services as scheduled.
