Job summary

L3Harris Technologies seeks a software engineering leader to drive DevSecOps adoption across Maritime programs. You will shape engineering practices, mentor leaders, and partner with programs to improve efficiency, quality, and execution throughout the software lifecycle.

The role requires extensive leadership across multiple teams, experience with Agile, DevSecOps, and secure development, and a DoD Secret clearance. Travel up to 15% may be required, and a relevant technical degree is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field with 15+ years of experience, or graduate degree with 13+ years; in lieu of a degree, 19+ years of experience.
• Broad software engineering leadership across multiple teams or programs.
• Experience in Agile, DevSecOps, digital engineering, model-based development, automated test, and secure software development practices.
• Active and existing U.S. DoD Secret security clearance required to start.

Responsibilities

• Build an engineering pipeline to enable efficient, traceable, low-defect software development in encryption programs and beyond.
• Define, implement, and improve software engineering processes, standards, tools, and governance.
• Advise leadership on software engineering strategy, maturity, and execution improvement.
• Provide guidance to software teams throughout the lifecycle.
• Evaluate performance, identify gaps, and lead actions to improve effectiveness and predictability.
• Review plans, technical approaches, and proposals to ensure alignment with best practices.
• Use data-driven analysis to assess health and drive continuous improvement.
• Mentor technical leaders and engineering teams.
• Foster accountability, technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Travel up to 15%.
• Valid driver’s license if travel requires site access.
