Job summary

L3Harris Technologies seeks a Director of DevSecOps Engineering to lead adoption of agile software practices across the Maritime sector. You will shape engineering approaches, mentor leaders, and partner with programs to improve efficiency and quality in secure development.

The role requires extensive leadership, DoD security clearance eligibility, and travel up to 15%. Reporting will influence risk management and program startup activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field with 15+ years of experience; or 13+ with graduate degree.
• Broad leadership across multiple teams, programs, or units.
• Experience influencing senior leaders and driving cross-functional change.
• Strong knowledge of full SDLC, including requirements, design, and release.
• Experience with AI and automation in pipelines and secure development practices.
• Must be able to obtain/maintain U.S. DoD Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Build an engineering pipeline to enable efficient, traceable, low-defect software development for encryption programs.
• Define and improve software engineering processes, standards, tools, and governance.
• Advise leadership on strategy, maturity, and execution opportunities.
• Provide guidance to software teams across the SDLC.
• Assess performance, identify gaps, and drive improvements.
• Review plans, estimates, and startup activities for adherence to best practices.
• Use data-driven analysis to monitor health and drive action.
• Mentor technical leaders and teams.
