Job summary

Accelerate Change is seeking a Director of Development Operations to lead grant management, donor data stewardship, and external funder communications. This remote, United States–based role reports to the VP of Development & Executive Operations and oversees a small team including Grants Manager and Development & Communications Manager.

You will drive strategic operations, ensure audits/compliance, and collaborate with cross-functional partners to optimize fundraising workflows while supporting

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience in a director-level role overseeing a development operations team in a nonprofit.
• Strong Salesforce platform experience with focus on NPSP.
• Solid understanding of nonprofit financial compliance and IRS related to development operations.
• Detail-oriented with excellent writing and ability to meet deadlines.
• Experience leading and coaching a team of managers and contractors in development operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic vision for the Development Operations Department ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
• Oversee grant management including writing, proposals, and reporting for Accelerate and incubated projects.
• Oversee and optimize development operations: donations, Salesforce data, reporting, acknowledgments.
• Lead external funder communications: emails, LinkedIn, events, webinars, donor materials.
• Support fundraising activities and funder relationship management with leadership.
• Ensure donor/prospect stewardship and responsive funder inquiries; maintain data accuracy.
