Job summary

Santé, a Maryland behavioral health provider, is seeking a Director of Development to grow philanthropic support across the state. This hands-on leadership role will shape strategy, build key relationships, and scale fundraising programs from government, foundations, corporate partners, and individuals.

You will lead the development team, establish systems and reporting, write compelling proposals, and partner with the CEO and Board on donor engagement.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive fundraising experience.
• Direct grant writing experience and cultivation of major gifts.
• Strong relationship-building with donors, partners, and funders.
• Experience building or growing a development program.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a multi-year fundraising strategy across sources.
• Build Santé’s culture of philanthropy across staff, Board, and supporters.
• Establish policies, systems, and reporting for a growing operation.
• Lead the development function, including staff and consultants.
• Write grant proposals, donor appeals, sponsorship pitches, and stewardship pieces.
• Partner with CEO, leadership, and Board on donor engagement.
• Build relationships with donors, corporate partners, and foundations across MD.
