Job summary

Destination Pet in the United States is seeking a Director of Data Science to lead the development of a differentiated pet data platform. This role combines hands-on data science leadership with building scalable data products across veterinary, pet care, and services networks.

You will own data strategy, analytics methods, and cross-functional collaboration with product, engineering, and commercial teams. A PE-backed growth trajectory and fully remote work in the US are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (Data Science, CS, Stats, Eng).
• 6–10+ years in data science, analytics, ML or related roles.
• Strong Python and/or R; SQL in relational databases.
• Experience with messy multi-source data and data quality.

Responsibilities

• Define and lead data science strategy for a new pet data business unit.
• Build predictive models, segmentation, forecasting tools, and data products.
• Partner with product, tech, commercial, and exec stakeholders to monetize insights.
• Ensure data governance, privacy, and quality in evolving datasets.
• Translate analytics into clear, actionable business recommendations.
