Job summary

Subway is seeking a Director of Data Engineering to lead the design, development, and operation of enterprise data platforms and pipelines that support analytics, reporting, data products, and downstream consumption.

You will own delivery, reliability, and scalability of data systems while aligning with security, governance, and enterprise architecture standards, partnering with Data Product, Analytics, Platform, and Security leaders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 8–12 years of data engineering or related platforms experience.
• 5+ years of people leadership in tech teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and operation of enterprise data pipelines on Databricks and Snowflake.
• Oversee data quality, governance, and observability initiatives.
• Partner with product, analytics, and security leaders to drive data strategy.
• Manage budget and vendor relationships for data tooling.
